I read this today and found it touching and fitting for this mommy who always seems behind on her work. I am behind on lesson plans, behind on sewing, stressed about vacation coming up. But today I will try to breathe....
Song for a Fifth Child
by Ruth Hulburt Hamilton
Mother, oh Mother, come shake out your cloth,
Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
Hang out the washing and butter the bread,
Sew on a button and make up a bed.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She’s up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.
Oh, I’ve grown shiftless as Little Boy Blue
(Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
(Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo).
The shopping’s not done and there’s nothing for stew
And out in the yard there’s a hullabaloo
But I’m playing Kanga and this is my Roo.
Look! Aren’t her eyes the most wonderful hue?
(Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow,
For children grow up, as I’ve learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep.
Lost money, lost opportunities, almost anything lost can be
replaced, but even if you live to be a hundred, you will never get a
second chance at today.

Crazy, Busy life! Pt 1 of 2
Life has certainly been crazy recently! Heck, we were still doing Dr. Seuss activities last week! Here are some of the things we did.
Sawyer had his first swimming trip! I am bummed this picture is blurry! I am down to my cell, because something is wrong with my camera. Again.
We had some yummy meals!
And I turned 32.
I got several nice cards and my mom took me to lunch at The Farmer's Daughter, they specialize in local foods and farmers! YUMMMM!!! Mom surprised me with a dairy free cake! I was so excited! It was super delish! Though late that night Sawyer reacted to it, so there must have been a tiny bit of something in it. Still, isn't it pretty!!!
Mom and I went to Walmart, so we could pick out a saucer for Sawyer. I let Isabelle wear Sawyer for the first time!
It was a wonderful birthday! I am thankful for the year I had and look forward to what next year brings!

It's been a rough week around here.
Mama's patience are so gone...
And the antibiotic isn't working for Little Bit (Sawyer). He has been on it since Monday for an "ear infection". I am not positive he has one. He does, however, have a chronic ear issue. Every 1-2 weeks, his right ear gets gooey and starts draining puss. I know that is a sign of infection, but I don't think it is a typical ear infection. So, our chiropractor and I agreed that he may need to be seen by the doctor since it keeps perforating.
The doctor barely looked at his ear. When I mentioned my concern with hearing damage he pretty much said we can't do anything to prevent it and we would just have to wait and see if he has any dialogue delays...helpful...NOT!
Anyway, I am still giving him the antibiotic. I know it's bothering his belly and it doesn't seen to be helping his ear because yesterday and today it has been full of puss. Seems, though, that since it will be a week on Monday, I may need to look at taking him to a specialist. Because, as my parents keep reminding me, I had LOTS of ear problems as a baby, and of all my babies, he seems most like me.
My baby is sick and I am so sad for him... <3
